The collection consists of one scrapbook containing letters, most typed on letterheads, from legislators, United States presidents, congressional representatives, and businesspersons. Letters are addressed to Mr. Sigo Myers, Mr. W.C. Poillon, Mr. Julius Edel, Ken Edel, and Mr. Herman M. Edel. Correspondents include Bernard M. Baruch, chair of the Advisory Commission of the Council of National Defense; Herbert Hoover; William J. Harris; Alfred E. Smith; Franklin D. Roosevelt; James A. McDivitt and Edward H. White II, NASA Astronauts; and Richard B. Russell.

The collections consists of one letter from Woodrow Wilson to L.J. Cooper, a national delegate to the Democratic Convention of 1912 stating his appreciation for Mr. Cooper's part in unifying the party in his area. The letter is typed on Wilson's Sea Grit, N.J. lettehead. Included is one delegate's pass to the convention in Baltimore on June 25.

The collection consists of the papers of Clement Anselm Evans, diaries and letters to his wife Allie (Mary Allen Walton), which record his role in the Civil War, and typescripts of the book "Intrepid Warrior," which is the published version of these papers. Intrepid Warrior was compiled and edited by Robert Grier Stephens, Jr., grandson of Clement A. Evans. Also in this collection is an 1865 letter from Abraham Lincoln and 2 cartes-de-visite, all pertaining to Alexander H. Stephens, who was also an ancestor of Robert Stephens.

This collection includes legal documents related to Letitia Vandexen (sic) Smith, Thomas Smith and Frances Sophia Smith. The Thomas Smith letterbook mainly consists of correspondence between members of the Thomas Smith family from 1767-1841. The earliest letters (1767 and 1784) are from Smith to his mother Elizabeth Lawrence in Aberdeenshire, England. A group of 21 letters between Smith and his cousin Dr. Peter Smith of Aberdeenshire discuss the American lifestyle, medical schools and practices, and the judicial system. Another group of letters to Judge Jasper Yeates and Governor Thomas Mifflin refer to legal decisions and court procedures. Other correspondents include Dr. Philip Physick and Smith's brother Charles of London, England. Also included in the letterbook are two proclamations awarding judgeships to Smith, legal documents pertaining to the settlement of Smith's estate (1816), and documents relating to land sales or mortgaged property (1826 and 1841). Series 2 contains typescripts of letters between Thomas Smith and soon-to-be U.S. President George Washington in 1785-1786, in which Smith was acting as Washington's attorney for some land suits in Philadelphia. The typescripts were made by Burton Alva Konkle in 1902. Finally, Series 3. contains letters between Thomas Smith scholar Burton Alva Konkle and Wymberly Jones De Renne regarding the Thomas Smith collection.

The collection consists of personal and business correspondence, legal papers, writings, letterbooks, and other miscellaneous items. The bulk of this material deals with family lawsuits concerning the estates of Joseph E. Brown (father of Joseph M.) and Julius L. Brown (brother of Joseph M.). Box 1 includes letters written by Joseph M. Brown (1909-1926, mainly drafts and typescripts) Theodore Roosevelt, Hoke Smith,S. V. Sanfor, and Thomas Watson. Also in this box are a few of Brown's writings on military history of the Civil War, as well as his views on labor unions. Box 2 consists of legal documents and correspondence to and from other people, including other Brown family members. Boxes 3 and 4 contain letterbooks of Julius L. Brown and cover the periods 1894-1895 and 1908-1910.
